Bar XH Air Gets Processes Off the Ground With ProcessMaker

Canadian Air Charter Company Improves Safety Reporting System With ProcessMaker's Open Source BPM and Workflow Solution

BROOKLYN, NY and CALGARY, AB -- (Marketwire) -- 10/20/09 -- Bar XH Air Inc., a Canadian aviation company that offers chartered flights and scheduled flights through its Hawkair commuter service, as well as air ambulance services to communities across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia, has implemented Colosa's open source business process management (BPM) and workflow software, ProcessMaker, as the core of its central Safety Management System (SMS).

Based out of Western Canada, Bar XH is a 40-year old aviation company that has safety and security at the forefront. Its fleet offers a diverse range of aircrafts including the Jetstream 32 series, King Air 200 series, Piper Navajo Chieftain, and DeHavilland Dash 8 model 100 and 300 aircraft through its affiliate company Hawkair. The company also serves as a fixed base operator (FBO), offering aircraft fuel, oil, parking and hangarage.

The company selected ProcessMaker as the workflow and business process management solution that is the core of its new central Safety Management System (SMS). An online, secure and reliable system that allows Bar XH employees to inform their supervisors of any safety threats to themselves or others in the workplace, and compliance with all applicable workplace laws and regulations. The new system enhances an existing manual and paper-based safety system. Combined, the complete system now provides the flexibility to quickly report safety issues. Additionally, the enhanced system provides detailed trend analysis, permitting proactive steps and risk mitigation to be effectively executed.

Colosa's Canadian-based partner Pravina Solutions in partnership with Titan Solutions Group Inc. developed and implemented the ProcessMaker-based custom SMS solution in three months. As the core of the SMS, ProcessMaker automates key business processes and workflows in safety; providing employees an online safety reporting system with progress notification; circulating safety reports for review by department managers including assessment and action by appropriate personnel, and also acting as a central repository for reporting, trend analysis and performance measurements. Now, Bar XH employees can quickly report safety issues and because ProcessMaker is web-based, they can do so regardless of location.

The results that Bar XH has achieved by using ProcessMaker to enhance their Safety Management System include:

-- Accuracy and timeliness - issues are reported online as they occur
-- Safety - awareness generated and increased transparency in handling
    safety-related issues
-- Access to data - information related to each safety issue is now
accessible in a central repository with appropriate access controls to
    guard data
-- Management accountability - management can respond to safety issues
and conduct root cause analysis, leading to better risk management
-- Decreased training costs - intuitive graphical user interface reduced
training time to use the online system

Robert Phillips, General Manager of Bar XH Air, said, "Going from a primarily paper-based processes to a complete online solution is a big change for us. We are already seeing results in only a few months. Our response time to incidents has dropped considerably, and our processes are much more transparent. Best of all, it has also helped us improve efficiency, reduce administrative time and costs while at the same time improve our safety."

Rick Mooers, President of Titan Solutions Group Inc., said, "Our mission is to provide insightful and financially responsible solutions and strategies to our customers, based on solid experience, proven best practices, and industry leading technology solutions and partners. We feel that ProcessMaker meets all of these prerequisites and has demonstrated a solid ROI for Bar XH Air. We are extremely pleased with both Pravina Solutions and Colosa on this solution implementation."

Richard Christopher, President of Pravina Solutions, said, "Implementing ProcessMaker at Bar XH Air clearly demonstrated how flexible the system is in meeting users' requirements. ProcessMaker has been trusted to automate mission critical workflows for everything from government organizations and large enterprises down to small and medium businesses in a cost effective and timely manner."

Brian Reale, CEO of Colosa, said, "Bar XH is a great example of ProcessMaker in action. The software is being used to help keep the airline's employees and customers connected, informed and safe, which will help to prevent accidents and potentially even save lives. When a company absolutely needs to ensure its safety processes, it can rest easy when using ProcessMaker."
