Arkeia offers complete coverage of Novell's product range, including the backup of Netware and SUSE Linux systems, and is specifically designed for those enterprises with heterogeneous environments looking for centralized backup to disk and to tape. It offers the broadest and deepest support for Linux and open systems, including x86, Itanium-2, AMD Opteron, PowerPC, SPARC, and Alpha. Arkeia supports a broad range of other operating systems, including Windows, UNIX, Mac OS X, NetWare and xBSD. The company's product line offers YES Certification and guarantees smooth integration into Novell-based enterprise networks that rely on its backup solutions. The certification enables Arkeia to maintain its leadership position in the Linux data protection marketplace by providing the broadest Linux coverage in terms of distribution and hardware architecture support. Arkeia's MySQL hot backup plug-in is fully certified with the MySQL Network Silver Certified Partner program and allows Arkeia users to develop a flexible backup strategy that protects information without interruption. Utilizing Arkeia's convenient GUI navigator, the plug-in performs either incremental, differential or full MySQL backup while data is online and accessible. It is compatible with both Arkeia Network Backup and Arkeia Server Backup. Arkeia has enjoyed a long-term relationship with MySQL as part of its common commitment to provide enterprise-class solutions for Linux environments. Its certified plug-in delivers unequaled speed, reliability, and ease of use for system administrators who can take advantage of the MySQL database solution. Arkeia's director of marketing, Dave Elliott, will be a featured speaker in the Red Hat booth (Booth 210) discussing the topic "Protect or Perish: Developing an Effective Backup Strategy." The company previously announced Red Hat Ready certification of its flagship enterprise network backup software. As a member of the Red Hat Ready Partner program, Arkeia has added support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 to its existing product line, which already includes support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 2.1 and 3. Prior to joining Arkeia Elliott was responsible for strategic development at Iomega Corporation where he drove partnerships with enterprise software companies. Before that, he oversaw business development for Blue Martini Software, and led the team that forged technology partnerships with IBM, HP, Sun Microsystems, TIBCO and SAS Institute. Elliott has also held marketing management positions with Sun Microsystems, and consulted with technology companies on strategy and marketing while with management consultant A.T. Kearney (EDS). Dave holds an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley's Haas School of Business and a BA in Economics from the University of California, San Diego. The Red Hat Ready Independent Software Vendor (ISV) application program allows vendors to test and qualify their software applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux. It is a key step in supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux as a standard platform for enterprise computing. Customers who choose to deploy Red Hat Ready applications have the assurance that Arkeia software has completed rigorous testing on the latest versions of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and that Arkeia is compliant with Red Hat's stringent guidelines for interoperability.
