A recent review conducted by Eyeful Presentations, the leading Presentation consultancy in the UK and US, has highlighted some major issues with presentations in the Pharmaceutical industry. The survey of online presentations highlighted just how "Death by PowerPoint" is damaging a large number of Pharmaceutical organisations' potential to utilise PowerPoint and presentations to good effect.
"Over the last 5 years we've started to see a real shift in how PowerPoint is perceived and a realisation of how powerful a tool it can be. Unfortunately our survey of online presentations shows that the Pharmaceutical industry is lagging a long way behind most industries in the way they present themselves." Commented Eyeful Presentations' Managing Director Simon Morton.
The effective use of PowerPoint in corporate presentations has improved in a number of sectors over recent years as marketing and sales professionals have come to terms with when and how PowerPoint should be used.
One of the key issues highlighted by Eyeful's review was the detailed and technical nature of the content in the majority of Pharmaceutical presentations.
"One of the biggest barriers we've seen to a quality presentation is the need to cram slides full of detail, and in this industry, dense technical detail. The famed 'Death by PowerPoint' is almost inevitable." Continued Morton. "This situation is not new, and we've dealt with it across a lot of industries in the past. The Pharmaceutical industry needs to understand the value of presenting a high level message underpinned with detailed documentation before it's too late".
In an attempt to address the issues highlighted in this review, Eyeful has taken the decision to offer companies in the Pharmaceutical sector a "Presentation Healthcheck" free of charge.
About Eyeful Presentations - http://www.eyefulpresentations.com
In the Spring of 2003, Simon Morton founded Eyeful to provide presentation services to businesses looking to improve the way they share information with their most important audiences - their prospects, customers, employees & shareholders.
The company firmly believes that key to their success is their unique approach of addressing the entire presentation process through their "Presentation Optimisation" methodology. This holistic approach ensures that clients' presentations are made more effective, not just "prettier".
Their work varies from high impact conference decks through to interactive credentials and pitch presentations - all created in PowerPoint to ensure complete flexibility and control by the client. This approach of "open source" presentation development mixed with ground breaking design means that Eyeful now boasts an impressive client base including major corporations like Microsoft, Adobe, Eli Lilly and Unilever.
