Peerless Foods, Australia’s largest privately owned producer of edible oils, fats and margarines, is recognized for developing an ERP system based on open source software from Ingres and Jaspersoft. The project, initiated by CIO Adrian Hamilton, automates end-to-end business processes, including forecasting, ordering, production, packaging, and distribution.
Save Mart, the second-largest grocery chain in California, was honored for migrating its retail operations from proprietary solutions to an open source-based architecture centered around Ingres and SUSE Linux as a result of its acquisition of 125 additional grocery stores. The project was led by Save Mart CIO James Sims.
