Open-Xchange and 4PSA are making available software that enables webhosting companies and SaaS providers using Parallels Plesk Panel to easily transition to Open-Xchange business-class e-mail and groupware. By replacing Plesk Webmail, users now get additional PIM (Personal Information Management) features at no extra cost with an option to move to full groupware, as well as support for mobile devices.
The move is endorsed by Parallels with the company's president of Worldwide Service Providers, Jack Zubarev, who commented, “Open-Xchange is the first business application that offers full integration with each of the two leading automation tools, Parallels Plesk Panel and Parallels Operations Automation. Open-Xchange e-mail and collaboration software gives hosters an ideal starting point to enter into the SaaS market -- fast, easy and cost-effective.”
The software called 4PSA OXtender for Plesk is an extension developed and supported by 4PSA that facilitates the transition to the AJAX-based web interface from Open-Xchange. More information is available here, www.open-xchange.com/en/4psa-oxtender-for-plesk-en.
Philbert Shih, senior analyst at Tier1 Research, said: "Rich e-mail is a crucial step for service providers that want to build ARPU (average revenue per user) and enhance stickiness of their services. It also helps service providers target small businesses that can't afford or do not need something like Microsoft Exchange. Offering feature-rich and collaborative e-mail is a way for Plesk hosters and resellers to enter the fast-growing SaaS collaboration and messaging market with minimal risk and investment, and Open Xchange's OXtender is one simple and efficient way of doing this." Open-Xchange is used by more than 15 million people worldwide.
