The Open Toro team has announced that OpenToro Version 3.0 has been uploaded. OpenToro is a Web Database Publisher, a tool that allows the developing ofdatabase-driven web applications in an agile and automatic way. Using OpenToro simply means to forget coding countless SQLs and JSPs every time developers want to implement a web application with database access.
OpenToro Works with any SQL-92 compatible database, but if developers want to use advanced features of some databases they can use (or develop) specific SQL Engines. OpenToro implements SQL Engines for databases like MySql, Oracle, Access, SQL-Server.
The new version includes the following enhancements:
- Metadata especification in XML files.
- OpenToro doesn’t need internal tables to run. There is no script, so it is possible to use OpenToro with any database thanks to generic driver support for ANSI SQL/92.
- Tutorial in two languages: English and Spanish.
- Creation of video demonstration (English and Spanish).
- Correction bugs in web application.
- New environment for generating and validating XML files of metaviews.
