Geotab Selects Quake Global’s Hardware to Provide Satellite Coverage for Its Fleet Telematics Solutions

Geotab, Inc. (“Geotab”) an established provider of end-to-end telematics solutions, and Quake Global, Inc. (“QUAKE”), a leading manufacturer of Machine-to-Machine communicators for multiple satellite and terrestrial networks, announce the immediate availability of Geotab’s GO4v3 telematics device supporting global satellite data coverage with QUAKE’s Q9612 high performance satellite modem.

Geotab’s new generation GO4v3 is a robust compact device that provides a broad array of remote telematics and emergency information. It natively supports multiple terrestrial communication protocols and can interface with numerous sensors. With the inclusion of QUAKE’s Q9612 satellite modem, Geotab’s customers are seamlessly connected to their remote assets anywhere in the globe. Satellite fills in the “gaps” when operating outside of traditional cellular coverage. When these communicators are paired, the transition between cellular and satellite is autonomous and seamless. These industrial strength devices are environmentally sealed and meet the strict power conditioning requirements of fleet operations. When coupled with Geotab’s dynamic user-friendly software, customers realize practical ways to better manage their operations in terms of productivity, operating costs, safety, regulatory compliance, and maintenance, just to name a few.

“Geotab has an impressive, diverse customer base comprising large fleet operators with varying usage patterns and geographic profiles,” said Sergio Ramos, QUAKE’s CTO. “The Q9612 will provide their customers with real-world value and safety in ensuring that their assets are always in touch under any conditions and regardless of location.”

“QUAKE’s impressive track record for dependable and rugged hardware made them the ideal satellite solution provider our customers have been looking for,” said Clive Cawse, Geotab’s VP Operations. “The Q9612 has the right set of features and performance to make it the perfect complement to our product line.”

Digital Transformation is much more than a buzzword. The radical shift to digital mechanisms for almost every process is evident across all industries and verticals. This is often especially true in financial services, where the legacy environment is many times unable to keep up with the rapidly shifting demands of the consumer. The constant pressure to provide complete, omnichannel delivery of customer-facing solutions to meet both regulatory and customer demands is putting enormous pressure on...
IoT is rapidly becoming mainstream as more and more investments are made into the platforms and technology. As this movement continues to expand and gain momentum it creates a massive wall of noise that can be difficult to sift through. Unfortunately, this inevitably makes IoT less approachable for people to get started with and can hamper efforts to integrate this key technology into your own portfolio. There are so many connected products already in place today with many hundreds more on the h...
The standardization of container runtimes and images has sparked the creation of an almost overwhelming number of new open source projects that build on and otherwise work with these specifications. Of course, there's Kubernetes, which orchestrates and manages collections of containers. It was one of the first and best-known examples of projects that make containers truly useful for production use. However, more recently, the container ecosystem has truly exploded. A service mesh like Istio addr...

To Really Work for Enterprises, MultiCloud Adoption Requires Far Better and Inclusive Cloud Monitoring and Cost Management … But How? Overwhelmingly, even as enterprises have adopted cloud computing and are expanding to multi-cloud computing, IT leaders remain concerned about how to monitor, manage and control costs across hybrid and multi-cloud deployments. It’s clear that traditional IT monitoring and management approaches, designed after all for on-premises data centers, are falling short in ...
