Satellite fills in the “gaps” when operating outside of traditional cellular coverage. When these communicators are paired, the transition between cellular and satellite is autonomous and seamless. These industrial strength devices are environmentally sealed and meet the strict power conditioning requirements of fleet operations. When coupled with Geotab’s dynamic user-friendly software, customers realize practical ways to better manage their operations in terms of productivity, operating costs, safety, regulatory compliance, and maintenance, just to name a few.

“Geotab has an impressive, diverse customer base comprising large fleet operators with varying usage patterns and geographic profiles,” said Sergio Ramos, QUAKE’s CTO. “The Q9612 will provide their customers with real-world value and safety in ensuring that their assets are always in touch under any conditions and regardless of location.”

“QUAKE’s impressive track record for dependable and rugged hardware made them the ideal satellite solution provider our customers have been looking for,” said Clive Cawse, Geotab’s VP Operations. “The Q9612 has the right set of features and performance to make it the perfect complement to our product line.”

When Enterprises started adopting Hadoop-based Big Data environments over the last ten years, they were mainly on-premise deployments. Organizations would spin up and manage large Hadoop clusters, where they would funnel exabytes or petabytes of unstructured data. However, over the last few years the economics of maintaining this enormous infrastructure compared with the elastic scalability of viable cloud options has changed this equation. The growth of cloud storage, cloud-managed big data e...
