Composite Application Integrator enables organizations that develop composite applications to rapidly incorporate services from Google maps, integrate existing applications, and exchange information with Google maps – thus significantly reducing time to market. It is currently available online to download, as either a 30-day evaluation copy or for purchase at www.softwareag.com/ajax.
"AJAX UI controls allow organizations to build composite rich applications with incredible speed." said Dr. Peter Kuerpick (pictured), Member of the Board, Software AG. "We are establishing a open collaborative community to create a comprehensive library of innovative controls, providing even richer functionality within weeks of the availability of new services, such as Google maps."Software AG’s CAI allows developers and architects to integrate existing applications and create new user interfaces, thus significantly reducing the effort needed to implement a Service Oriented Architecture. Using CAI, applications developed using any application development tool (such as Java, Natural or Cobol) – once made available as a Web service – can be combined across the Web with Google maps into a single intelligent user interface. As a result, the user is presented, through the browser, with a composite application possessing all the functionality of a rich client.
Once applications created using CAI are designed and tested, they can be rapidly deployed on a broad range of Java run-time environments, including major application servers and Tomcat. Each application can be immediately accessed through a browser or as a rich client (Java SWT client). Rich applications can also be integrated within portals, such as IBM WebSphere and SAP NetWeaver. Unlike traditional rich clients, all interface changes are communicated by the server to the Java client through XML streams.
Composite Application Integrator accelerates and simplifies the design and deployment of rich internet applications by providing a developer-friendly and WYSIWYG environment that doesn’t require skills in HTML, JavaScript and CSS. Desktop-like capabilities can now be enabled for the browser without requiring developers to code complex JavaScript. The library of AJAX UI controls shipped with CAI, including the Google maps control, make the development of composite applications even faster and easier.
