PALO ALTO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/29/11 -- Ephox, a leading provider of software for optimizing web content production, today released Ephox Enterprise TinyMCE version 3.4.1. The new release includes updates from the open source, community release of TinyMCE 3.4.1, as well as new features that improve performance, usability and accessibility. The updates will be highlighted by key team members from Ephox and Moxiecode at the inaugural Silicon Valley TinyMCE Meetup on March 31, 2011 in Palo Alto.
The 3.4.1 release incorporates a number of significant updates, including a new serializer engine that improves the performance of TinyMCE, particularly when working with large documents. The media plugin has been updated to support YouTube and HTML5 video display. In addition, list handling has been enhanced to provide improved cross browser consistency, and a new autolink plugin automatically produces hyperlinks.
Several accessibility features such as auto detection for high contrast mode have also been added, enabling TinyMCE to meet the W3C's Web Accessibility Initiative for Accessible Rich Internet Applications (WAI-ARIA) guidelines.
"The latest release of TinyMCE will ensure it remains the number one choice for rich text editing on the web," said Andrew Roberts, CEO of Ephox. "TinyMCE is such an important part of web technology, and we are looking forward to gathering feedback to help shape the roadmap for new product extensions and plugins."
Developers and executive team members from Ephox and Moxiecode, the creators of the open source version of TinyMCE, will be on-hand at the Silicon Valley TinyMCE Meetup in Palo Alto on March 31, 2011.
