Novacoast, Inc. Announces Partnership With SugarCRM

Introduces New Open Source Drivers for Identity Management and Telephony Integration

SALT LAKE CITY, March 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Novacoast, Inc., an IT professional services firm, and SugarCRM Inc., the leading commercial open source customer relationship management application provider, announce that Novacoast will join SugarCRM's exclusive Premier Partner Program and offer premium implementation and integration services for SugarCRM's Sugar Suite.

In addition, Novacoast has authored three new open source projects for the Sugar Suite, released today on http://www.sugarforge.org/. Two of the three projects include identity management drivers to be used with Novell, Inc.'s identity management software, IDM3. The IDM drivers synchronize user, contact, and account information in Novell's eDirectory with Sugar Suite 4.0. Any add/modify/deletes in either Sugar's database or Novell's identity vault will be recognized correspondingly.

Novacoast will also be releasing an open source outbound dialer that integrates Sugar Suite with VoiceRD(TM). VoiceRD(TM) is the rapid deployment of a fully featured open source VoIP PBX. The PBX deployment is complete with hardware, software, line provisioning, network integration, professional services, and training.

"Novacoast has a long history of choosing best-in-class technologies. Our strategic partnerships are built on those technologies and the companies that develop them," says Paul Anderson, Novacoast CEO. "SugarCRM is clearly the best commercial open source CRM technology, and maybe the best CRM technology period."

The Sugar Suite empowers organizations to better manage customer interactions during sales, marketing, support and group collaboration. The Sugar Suite is natively built on Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP (LAMP) open source technology. This architecture platform runs in several operating system environments, including Linux, Mac OS X, Microsoft, Unix and others, allowing it to be the most scalable, customizable and economical CRM solution available today.

"Releasing these projects into the Sugar community is big step forward for commercial open source business applications. It is another example of the collaboration between the open source community and the developers of commercial business applications. We designed these drivers so current users of Novell's IDM3 and the Sugar Suite can snap these connectors in today," says Eron Howard, Director of Development for Novacoast.

"SugarCRM is extremely pleased to be partnering with Novacoast," says Jeff Campbell, Director of Alliances at SugarCRM. "Novacoast's successful track record, deep Novell experience, and ability to rapidly implement complex technologies for a fixed fee offers a very compelling solution to significantly enhance the value of Sugar Suite for our customers."

SugarCRM and Novacoast are members of Novell's Market Start program. The Novell Market Start program accelerates the development of innovative open source business applications and connects open source communities to target markets.

While the focus and objectives of IoT initiatives are many and diverse, they all share a few common attributes, and one of those is the network. The Jevons Paradox suggests that when technological advances increase efficiency of a resource, it results in an overall increase in consumption. Writing on the increased use of coal as a result of technological improvements, 19th-century economist William Stanley Jevons found that these improvements led to the development of new ways to utilize coal. In his session at 19th Cloud Expo, Mark Thiele, Chief Strategy Officer for Apcera, compared the Jevons Paradox to modern-day enterprise IT, examin...
