EMERYVILLE, Calif., April 19 /PRNewswire/ -- BigFix, the leading provider of enterprise security configuration management solutions, has exceeded business goals in the first quarter of 2006 on the strength of new customer wins, strong renewal business and a broadening footprint in key sales geographies around the world and expanding sales of BigFix Enterprise Suite-based add-on solutions. The company ended the quarter with a net gain of over 300,000 BigFix Enterprise Suite platform and content licenses sold, bringing the worldwide total to about 5.3 million.
The company said that three major trends contributed to a highly successful quarter. First, rising awareness of the benefits from deploying BigFix products and services helped the company acquire new customers in major markets around the world. Significant wins include Edmonton Public Schools (Canada), Norwich Union (UK), Seoul National University (Korea), Singapore Public Transit Agency, and US Department of Energy. Second, existing customers are expanding their BigFix installations by purchasing additional solutions such as asset discovery, hardware and software inventory, vulnerability management, anti-spyware and network access control capabilities. Finally, the license renewal rate for BigFix products and services remains high, building up a recurring revenue installed base.
Product and Technology Moves
BigFix announced new products and services that extend its security configuration management platform for software deployment, regulatory compliance support, and BigFix Agent support for Intel processor-based Apple Macintosh systems. The company is also in final customer testing of BigFix Enterprise Suite 6.0 software and expects to release it early in the second quarter.
Dave Robbins Comments
"We had a great first quarter. We are particularly pleased to see our message that the BigFix Enterprise Suite offers a single-infrastructure, central point-of-control for multiple security configuration management capabilities is gaining traction across our customer base. The full benefit of the BigFix technology platform really comes into its own when IT operations and data security departments consolidate traditionally discrete functions on a common BigFix architecture. Also, the high renewal rate tangibly demonstrates high levels of customer satisfaction and helps build a recurring revenue foundation to support ongoing growth."
