OutWit Hub 2.1 – A Web Harvesting Power Tool for All

OutWit Technologies, publisher of innovative software based on its original data collection technology, announces the release of the first cross-platform Web harvester allowing the general public to easily collect information from the Internet, feed it to various destinations or open it in common applications.

This release of OutWit Hub is a mature, more powerful, easier and fully automated version of the harvester. Now available as a standalone application for Windows, MacOS or Linux, as well as a Firefox add-on, it grabs, organizes and exports millions of rows of data from static or dynamic Web pages and local networks.

It includes hundreds of recognition and automatic extraction features to ease Web searches, create intelligent scrapers, collect data and media, sort and organize the information and export it in various formats. A built-in wizard system allows the user to get acquainted with all the main features running simple tutorials within the application interface.

OutWit Hub is based on three simple concepts:

  • It breaks down Web pages and local documents into their constituents, enabling users to view and grab the type of data they want.
  • Users can drag and drop structured or unstructured data, links, media, into their collection basket as they surf,
  • They can ask the program to automatically explore large series of pages in a single click and effortlessly harvest huge volumes of pertinent information.

OutWit saves considerable time and effort automating repetitive tasks for all sorts of needs: building a contact database, grabbing basketball results or stock quotes every 10 minutes, collecting the latest Excel, PDF, PowerPoint documents available on your research topic, extracting daily job ads in a well-formatted spreadsheet, grabbing hundreds of high-resolution photos of your favorite movie star…

With simple, intuitive one-click features as well as sophisticated scraping functions, the program targets a broad range of user categories. Casual users will prefer to use the preset extractors while advanced programmers will save precious time building powerful scrapers and even extraction wizards, thanks to the OutWit libraries.

About OutWit Technologies:

OutWit Technologies develops and publishes innovative software to increase the efficiency and pertinence of Web research and harvesting, for professional use or for pleasure, eventually enabling Internet users to actively participate in the advent of the Semantic Web.
