SAN MATEO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 04/23/12 -- DotNetNuke Corp., the global leader in adaptive web software that keeps a business' online presence relevant and effective, today announced the immediate availability of a new and improved Microsoft® SharePoint integration that now supports both SharePoint 2007 and SharePoint 2010. The new SharePoint Connector, part of the DotNetNuke Enterprise Edition, seamlessly integrates best-of-breed document management with the popular DotNetNuke web content management solution, giving organizations the ability to efficiently and securely publish documents from SharePoint directly to their externally-facing websites.
"Keeping content fresh, up to date and compliant with corporate standards can be a daunting task," said John Clark, principal at Wow Web Works, a DNN partner. "The ability to leverage SharePoint and deliver content directly to public sites will save companies time and money, and will allow the contributors to manage their content more efficiently."
The DNN SharePoint Connector makes it simple to publish content stored in the SharePoint Document Library to a DotNetNuke website. Documents stored in SharePoint 2007 (MOSS and WSS 3.0) and now SharePoint 2010 (Foundation, Standard and Enterprise) can be deployed to any DotNetNuke website, intranet or extranet. Easy to configure and manage, the SharePoint Connector allows automated, scheduled document publishing as well as the ability to manage document deletions. Documents can be stored and managed by multiple departments within an organization on a SharePoint server residing behind a corporate firewall with only specific documents published to external websites. Once documents are published, they are protected by the DNN role-based security framework. There are a variety of options for storage of files and documents, including file system, database and cloud-based providers like Amazon S3.
"Enterprises are dealing with a staggering volume of traditional documents, media files and even social content," said Shaun Walker, CTO and co-founder of DotNetNuke Corp. "As the largest, most successful web content solution in the Microsoft ecosystem, it only makes sense that thousands of our customers also use SharePoint to effectively manage their documents. With our improved connector, we are now bringing a new level of efficiency and cost savings to those organizations that want an affordable, integrated solution."
The DotNetNuke SharePoint Connector is available now directly from DotNetNuke and its partners. The SharePoint Connector is only available in the DotNetNuke Enterprise Edition.
