SUNNYVALE, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 04/24/12 -- Centrify Corporation, the leading provider of security and compliance solutions that centrally control, secure and audit access to cross-platform systems, mobile devices and applications using Active Directory, today announced that its Centrify DirectControl v5.1 has been accepted for Common Criteria certification and is now listed as "In Evaluation" at EAL (Evaluation Assurance Level) 2+.
Common Criteria provides a common set of requirements for the security functionality of IT products and for assurance measures applied to these IT products during a security evaluation. The Common Criteria evaluation process establishes a level of confidence that the security functionality of IT products earning certification and the assurance measures applied to these IT products meet the established Common Criteria evaluation requirements. Common Criteria is useful as a guide for the development, evaluation and/or procurement of IT products with security functionality.
Centrify DirectControl v5.1 has been accepted by the Certification Body for the Canadian Common Criteria Evaluation and Certification Scheme into its certification program. DirectControl is listed among products in evaluation, with evaluation file number 383-4-238, on the CSEC site http://www.cse-cst.gc.ca/its-sti/services/cc/oe-pece-eng.html.
Centrify's ongoing commitment to the Federal Government market is demonstrated by this Common Criteria evaluation, as well as by the recent Certificate of Networthiness (CON) from the U.S. Army NETCOM and FIPS 140-2 Level 1 validation of DirectControl on Mac OS X and Red Hat Linux. Centrify's solution is the industry's only Active Directory bridging product to have entered into the Common Criteria evaluation, and to have achieved both CON and FIPS certifications. In addition, Centrify DirectControl for Mac OS X has also received the Department of Defense (DoD) Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) certification for support of Common Access Cards (CAC) Smart Cards and strong authentication.
Centrify has broad acceptance throughout federal, defense and civilian agencies for its reliable identity consolidation and privileged access management solutions for UNIX, Linux and Mac systems. DirectControl is an integrated component of Centrify Suite 2012, Centrify's security and compliance solution for controlling, securing and auditing access to cross-platform systems and applications using Active Directory. DirectControl, through Centrify's patented Zone technology, allows organizations to easily establish global UNIX identities, centrally manage privileged user access on systems, and enable delegate administration.
"Participating in this evaluation is an important step for Centrify, and will help expand our growing reach in the U.S. Federal market," said Tom Kemp, Centrify co-founder and CEO. "The Common Criteria process of thoroughly testing Centrify's DirectControl will validate the security functions of our solution, and will provide confidence for those government agencies requiring assurance that the products they deploy meet the highest security evaluation standards as measured by the Common Criteria process to best protect their IT infrastructure."
