BOXBOROUGH, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/07/12 -- VeloBit, a provider of high-performance SSD caching software, today announced the release of VeloBit HyperCache 1.1. VeloBit HyperCache accelerates by up to 14x the performance of business applications, such as databases, Microsoft Exchange, financial analysis, e-commerce and social networking applications, and "big data" distributed deployments such as Hadoop.
VeloBit enables customers to maximize the performance of their IT infrastructure, while reducing the cost and complexity of deploying SSD. In third party benchmarks, VeloBit HyperCache has proven to be 3x faster than alternative SSD caching solutions and has demonstrated high-end SSD performance results with only 1/3 of the SSD capacity. VeloBit HyperCache installs and configures in 60 seconds transparently on a running system without changes to applications or storage. VeloBit works with any block storage and any SSD (PCIE, SATA, etc.). VeloBit HyperCache 1.1 supports Linux OS (available now), VMware (Beta available now) and Windows OS (Beta available in May).
"VeloBit delivered a dramatic performance boost to our storage infrastructure, which enabled us to increase productivity and reduce the cost of scaling I/O capacity," said Andrew Nurcahya, Founder of DataFeedFile. "Before selecting VeloBit, we evaluated multiple SSD solutions; VeloBit demonstrated the highest performance with unmatched deployment simplicity."
"VeloBit is disrupting the price/performance equation in the SSD market," said Brian Garrett, Vice President, ESG Lab at the Enterprise Strategy Group. "With host-based software that combines advances in caching, compression, and SSD management to deliver increased IOPS at a lower cost, Velobit has dramatically lowered the cost of turbo charging application performance with SSD."
"VeloBit was founded to address the customer need for higher performance, lower SSD cost, and reduced complexity," said Duncan McCallum, CEO and co-founder of VeloBit. "VeloBit is growing rapidly, addressing the need for a truly fast SSD cache on all three popular platforms in the industry now: Linux, Windows, and VMware. The strong customer demand for our technology is a testament to the talent of our engineering team."
