Xamarin Co-founder Speaks at Visual Studio Live! New York and at NY Community Night

Xamarin, a leading provider of development platforms to simplify the creation and operation of cross-platform mobile applications targeting phones and tablets running iOS, Android and Windows, today announced Miguel de Icaza, co-founder and chief technology officer, will be speaking at Visual Studio Live! New York. The conference, since 1993, provides architects, developers, designers and technical managers using the Microsoft application development platform with information needed to meet and solve development challenges. de Icaza, recognized as an innovator by the Free Software Foundation, MIT Technology Review and Time Magazine, has been writing free software since 1992, cofounding the GNOME project in 1997 and directing the Mono project since its creation in 2001. de Icaza will discuss using Visual Studio to build cross-platform mobile apps for iOS, Android and Windows phones, tablets and embedded devices.

“As businesses rush to develop mobile apps for multiple devices, more and more developers are choosing Xamarin to build iOS and Android apps with C# and Visual Studio,” said Nat Friedman, CEO of Xamarin. “Miguel’s extensive experience and passion will guarantee that attendees leave with everything they need to build the best apps for any phone, tablet or embedded device.”
