Freewebs.com, the Internet's free do-it-yourself Web site host, announced the immediate availability of the Freewebs Shoutbox. Available to all Freewebs users, the Freewebs Shoutbox combines the best features of guestbooks, instant messaging, and chat rooms to allow "any time" communications between visitors on a website. New feature lets anyone with an Internet connection and something to share build a free Web site that features the best of guestbooks, chat rooms and IM.

A demo of the new feature can be viewed at www.freewebs.com/shoutboxdemo.
Powered by AJAX, Freewebs Shoutbox enables both synchronous and asychronous communication and lets Web site visitors chat at the same time, post messages, or hold a conversation over any period of time. The Freewebs ShoutBox is customizable by size and color, and allows the owner to set permissions on who can post.
"Social networking sites are a mile wide and an inch deep. Freewebs is creating a deeper and more meaningful web experience than just a five foot tall profile page on MySpace. Websites are becoming richer communication platforms and Freewebs Shoutbox is leading the way," said Haroon Mokhtarzada, founder and CEO of Freewebs. "The Freewebs Shoutbox was built in direct response to members' needs for a better way to communicate with visitors to their sites."
