Open-Xchange has announced OX Notifier for Windows that alerts users to new email, meetings and documents and gives them one-click access right from their web browser.
OX Notifier works with the Open-Xchange webmail client running in a browser, saving money because users do not need separate client software, like Microsoft Outlook.
When notifications are received, the user has the option to immediately access the email, new meeting invite or reminder for upcoming appointment, as well as new or updated document within the Open-Xchange Infostore.
"We live in a world of lightning-fast communications so we integrated notifications right into the base browser version of our client software, making users aware of new information that they can work on immediately," said Juergen Geck, chief technology officer of Open-Xchange.
OX Notifier is available at no additional cost to all users of Open-Xchange Server and Hosting Edition. OX Notifier supports the latest versions of Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 (both 32- and 64-bit). For download and installation, users of Open-Xchange can go to http://oxpedia.org/wiki/index.php?title=Open-Xchange_Installation_Guide_for_OX_Notifier.
