LAFAYETTE, Ind. and HAMBURG, Germany, Nov. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Emerging Threats, a world-leading provider of open source and commercial threat and malware intelligence, today announced that gateprotect® (http://www.gateprotect.com), a leading provider of IT security solutions, has licensed the Emerging Threats ETPro™ Ruleset for integration into its existing UTM (Unified Threat Management) and future firewall appliances. The ETPro Ruleset will deliver the most comprehensive ruleset to gateprotect for use in their flagship SMB security solutions all over the world. gateprotect is represented in the US market with offices in Santa Clara, CA, New Jersey, and Canada and distributes its products through well-known partners such as Contronex and Securematics.
The ETPro Ruleset is integrated into most of gateprotect's current UTM Firewall offerings that feature firewall and IDS/IPS capabilities by monitoring network traffic, analyze package content, and identify malicious threats that come in from legitimate ports. These appliances target gateprotect's SMB market that secures between 50-500 users from incoming malicious threats. In addition, the ETPro Ruleset will be integrated into gateprotect's Next Generation UTM Firewall appliances that will feature optimal scalability, security, and performance benefits.
"Delivering the highest quality IT security solutions to our customers is of utmost importance to gateprotect," said Stephen Ziegler, CTO of gateprotect. "We are seeing a convergence of feature sets that are needed to keep up with the malicious threats that are becoming more prevalent and disruptive. We chose the ETPro Ruleset over others because of its excellent reputation in recognizing potential or identified malicious threats immediately by isolating and stopping that activity, preventing any further intrusion into the network. In addition, the ETPro Ruleset has a very attractive price-performance ratio."
The ETPro Ruleset is platform-agnostic, and integrates seamlessly into Intrusion Detection or Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS). The ETPro Ruleset has become the de facto standard in malware protection. Years of unsurpassed malware collection research, testing, and analysis have made it the most respected ruleset in the market today.
"Malicious threats continue to be on the rise globally," said Ken Gramley, CEO of Emerging Threats Pro, LLC. "Companies like gateprotect Germany are faced with the constant challenges of developing IT security solutions to protect their customer's networks. We are pleased that our ETPro Ruleset is helping to intercept these threats before causing such tremendous damage to mission-critical networks and protect their business integrity."
