JumpStart Invests $250,000 in AMVONET

Company's Distance-Learning Software Platform Helps To Make Education More Accessible

CLEVELAND, Nov. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- AMVONET (www.amvonet.com), a software company whose distance-learning technology has the potential to make education more accessible and affordable, has received $250,000 from nonprofit venture development organization JumpStart Inc. (www.jumpstartinc.org). The Alliance, Ohio-based company's main product is a comprehensive, fully-integrated software suite called the AMVONET Learning Content Management System.

The AMVONET Learning Content Management System is comprised of three distinct but complementary components. AMVONET Manage is a teaching toolkit instructors can use to manage students and their grades, as well as generate progress reports. AMVONET Connect is a real-time communication platform which acts as a virtual classroom; students can interact with teachers and peers via audio, video or text chat; collaborate live on platforms such as PowerPoint; and record these sessions for later viewing. Finally, AMVONET Publish lets users add multimedia elements to videos they recorded using AMVONET Connect, as well as add dynamic action, using a patent-pending technology called Interactive Points (iPoints).

"Today, more and more people are worrying about how to access and pay for a quality education," says AMVONET President, CEO and Founder Vadim Eelen. "Thankfully, technology is making it easier to transmit knowledge. AMVONET leverages digital advancements in order to create an interactive, comprehensive classroom experience—anywhere and at any time." In addition to the K-12 and higher education markets, AMVONET offers distance-learning solutions for the healthcare and business industries, specifically corporate training, online collaboration sessions and interactive recordings.

"AMVONET has created a comprehensive e-learning solution that provides educators with intuitive, easy-to-use tools for online course creation," says Jerry Frantz, JumpStart's Managing Venture Partner. AMVONET's product also seamlessly integrates with Moodle, the most widely used open-source platform, which has more than 57 million users worldwide. "AMVONET's software provides educators and  trainers with everything they need to create, manage and share multimedia course content in one online Learning Management System," Frantz says.

AMVONET plans to use the JumpStart investment to hire new employees, expand its sales and marketing resources, and execute its growth and product enhancement strategies.
