Nebula® announced today that former ANSO Labs founder and CEO and OpenStack founding engineer Jesse Andrews has been promoted to vice president of product management.
Andrews has a long history of success building enterprise products by harnessing the innovation of the open source community. He was instrumental in the inception and development of key OpenStack projects including Block Storage (Cinder), Identity and Authentication (Keystone), Dashboard (Horizon), and helped shape the strategy for building OpenStack services into the Rackspace Hosting public cloud offering.
“Nebula’s product combines the simplicity of public cloud services with the security and cost advantages of on-premise infrastructure,” said Chris C. Kemp, Co-founder and CEO of Nebula. “No one understands OpenStack and the technologies that we’re bringing together in our product better than Jesse.”
In his new role, Andrews will guide Nebula’s product development as the company prepares for the general availability of its flagship private cloud system. Andrews will be leading Nebula’s world class product management team, which now includes VMware ESX team veteran Prashant Prahlad and former Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) product management lead Tina Nolte.
“I am excited to have the opportunity to work with some of the most innovative enterprises in the world as we ready Nebula’s product for general availability,” said Andrews.
Prior to joining Nebula and Rackspace, Andrews bootstrapped ANSO Labs – the company which designed and implemented the core OpenStack cloud technologies Nova and Horizon for NASA. Andrews is also the creator and owner of the popular Greasemonkey community site Userscripts.org.
