Jive Software Releases Wildfire 3.0 Open Source Edition

Open-Source Real-Time Communication Server Also Available In Commercial Edition

Jive Software, provider of easy-to-use, open-architecture, enterprise collaboration software, announced the availability of Wildfire 3.0 Enterprise and Open Source Editions. This release of the award-winning Open Source real-time communication server includes a commercial upgrade for companies seeking an affordable, enterprise-class alternative to closed, proprietary solutions.

"We are working hard to become the standard for open, real-time communications," said Dave Hersh, Jive Software's CEO. "This means providing a complete solution as an Open Source product as well as commercially. This release delivers scalability in both editions, and Wildfire 3.0 Enterprise Edition includes features that appeal to mission-critical environments like comprehensive archiving, client control, customer chat, and real-time reporting. Now companies of any size can deploy a more powerful Enterprise-class solution for a fraction of the cost of proprietary solutions."

The Enterprise Edition of Wildfire 3.0 has already been met with substantial demand and early customers such as MTV, IBM, Turner Broadcasting, The State of Kentucky's Center for Rural Development, Capgemini Energy and Dimensional Fund Advisors. "EIM is a mission-critical component of our business. We were looking for something that was easy to deploy, secure, and that had deep archiving features. Jive Software's Wildfire Real-Time Server was the clear choice," said Rodney Butcher, IT Operations for The State of Kentucky's Center for Rural Development. "We were up and running in 90 seconds and amazed at how simple and powerful the web-based administration console was to use."

"Quality Open-Source software continues to disrupt the market," said Matt Tucker, CTO of Jive Software. "Software that was once considered niche is now powering some of the world's strongest companies and providing real options for critical applications. This release of Wildfire further validates that model thanks to both a strong commitment to a collaborative, talented development community and a laser focus on providing high-impact Enterprise features."

Wildfire 3.0 Open-Source Edition and Wildfire 3.0 Enterprise Edition is a real-time server built on the XMPP protocol.
