PALO ALTO, CA and BERLIN -- (Marketwire) -- 11/27/12 -- GreenButton, the leading provider of IT automation and utility computing software, today announced that hhpberlin, a leading engineering firm for fire protection and life safety from Germany, will deploy GreenButton's high performance computing (HPC) solution.
hhpberlin specializes in large commercial buildings and uses an open source application called FDS (Fire Dynamics Simulator) to simulate fires and design escape procedures. The strategic deployment of GreenButton maximizes the benefits of the cloud for mission critical, compute intensive workloads, while increasing productivity. The company has partnered with GreenButton, via one of their European resellers, leveraging Windows Azure to scale FDS to large-scale simulations on demand. The on demand solution provides incomparable optimization of cloud services through seamless end-to-end management of any projects burst to the cloud for execution. In addition it maximizes speed to deployment with results in hours, not weeks or months.
"GreenButton provides our customers seamless access to the cloud," said Stefan Truthän, CEO of hhpberlin. "By porting our studies and designs for commercial building smoke handling systems and sprinkler/detector activation systems to Windows Azure, our architects and engineers can now offload as many simulations to the cloud for processing right from their workstations, with results in hours vs. days. The time and cost savings are invaluable to us and our customers."
"We see companies every day that just don't have the time or resources to execute their critical applications," said Scott Houston, GreenButton's CEO. "GreenButton's suite of high power computing and on demand software gives hhpberlin the ability to easily increase efficiencies and cut costs via the cloud."
