Penguin Computing, a leading provider of HPC and enterprise computing solutions, today announced that Lisa Cummins has joined the company as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Cummins brings over 20 years of experience as well as a thorough knowledge of mergers and acquisitions and corporate fundraising via debt and equity. In this role, Cummins will manage all aspects of the company’s financial operations, including corporate accounting, strategic financial planning, income taxes and corporate treasury.
“A seasoned executive team is key for Penguin’s continued growth into the enterprise market, building on our success delivering hundreds of HPC clusters ranging from departmental clusters to multi-million-dollar 'Top 100' supercomputers,” said Charles Wuischpard, CEO of Penguin Computing. “Lisa’s experience managing companies through rapid growth and her financial knowledge will help to guide Penguin into the next step in the company’s development.”
Cummins joined Penguin Computing after serving for five years at Adept Technology, a publicly traded intelligent robotics company, as senior vice president and CFO. Prior to Adept, Cummins served as assistant corporate controller with Pacer International, Inc., and a number of various financial positions with APL & APL Logistics, both independent units of Neptune Orient Lines Limited, a global transportation and logistics company. Cummins started her career at Ernst & Young in San Francisco and earned an MBA from St. Mary’s College, and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
“Penguin’s continued success and growth is very impressive,” said Lisa Cummins. “I look forward to working with the entire executive team as we continue to lead the company in the competitive market.”
