GENIVI® Alliance zeigt weiterhin stetiges Wachstum

- Mittlerweile bieten 18 GENIVI-Mitgliedsunternehmen konforme Software-Plattformen für globale OEMs

SAN RAMON, Kalifornien, 12. Dezember 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Die GENIVI Alliance, ein Branchenverband der Automobil- und Unterhaltungselektronikindustrie, der sich für die Entwicklung und Umsetzung einer offenen Plattform für Infotainment in Fahrzeugen (In-Vehicle Infotainment, IVI) einsetzt, gab heute bekannt, dass mittlerweile 18 GENIVI-Mitgliedsunternehmen den weltweiten Automobilherstellern Softwareplattformen anbieten, die als GENIVI-konform eingetragen sind.

Eine GENIVI-konforme Software-Plattform bietet Automobilherstellern das erforderliche Betriebssystem, die System-Infrastruktur und Middleware-Bausteine, um differenzierte Anwendungen und weitere Funktionen bereitstellen zu können, die als Software-Komponenten der nächsten Generation der von Automobilherstellern angebotenen IVI-Systeme anzusehen sind.

Das im August 2011 eingeführte Konformitätsprogramm von GENIVI wurde entwickelt, um eine Reihe von detaillierten technischen Anforderungen zu definieren, sodass Mitgliedsunternehmen sich für Ausschreibungen der Automobilhersteller qualifizieren können. Dies bietet den Autoherstellern den Vorteil einer gemeinsam entwickelten und gepflegten Software-Infrastruktur, die kollektive Bausteine freigibt, deren Wiederverwendung im Laufe der Zeit fördert, und ihnen die Möglichkeit gibt, sich auf den unverkennbaren Markenwert zum Nutzen ihrer Kunden zu konzentrieren.

In ihrer neuesten Konformitätsvorschrift, die auf der kürzlich stattgefundenen Versammlung aller Mitglieder in Schanghai vorgestellt wurde, wird für konforme Plattformen eine aktuelle Version des Betriebssystems Linux verlangt. Außerdem werden Bluetooth™ sowie ein Node Manager hinzugefügt, der Daten von mehreren Quellen im Fahrzeug sammelt, um ein schnelles Umschalten zwischen Anwendungen zu ermöglichen, die eine gemeinsame Anzeige verwenden.

Die Vorschrift 3.0 verlangt ebenfalls die Verwendung aktualisierter Open-Source-Bausteine, die Internetverbindungen verwalten, Netzwerkverbindungen auf Anfrage einrichten, Wi-Fi-Netzwerke auswählen und authentifizieren und die Kommunikation zwischen Anwendungen und Diensten ermöglichen.

GENIVI-konforme Plattformen werden von einer Reihe von Mitgliedsunternehmen des gesamten Wirtschaftszweigs, unter anderen auch von Tier-One Automobilzulieferern, Siliziumherstellern sowie Softwareanbietern und Dienstleistern angeboten. Expertengruppen für diese Technologieschwerpunkte haben eine Vorschrift für eine Open-Source-IVI-Middleware entwickelt, die - in Übereinstimmung mit der Versammlung aller Mitglieder - mit konformen, von Mitgliedern erstellten Plattformen aktualisiert und erweitert wird, damit Automobilhersteller IVI-Geräte der nächsten Generation gestalten können.

Das Verfahren ist beeindruckend: Die Vorschriften der GENIVI werden von Software-Anbietern zur Gestaltung einer Plattform angewendet. Dies wiederum wird mit Hardware kombiniert, die von anderen Mitgliedern der GENIVI angeboten wird, sodass Automobilhersteller ihren Kunden die modernsten Infotainment-Systeme der Branche anbieten können.
