GAITHERSBURG, Md., Dec. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Barr Group today announced the "Embedded Android Boot Camp", the latest entry in its respected Boot Camp Series of embedded systems training courses. The first offering of this new course will be in Maryland on April 29 to May 3, 2013.
Like the "Embedded Software Boot Camp" and other courses in the Boot Camp Series, the "Embedded Android Boot Camp" is an intense, 5-day training curriculum with a combination of lectures and hands-on software exercises. Attendees will learn the steps of bringing up ARM-based embedded hardware with Android/Linux, developing custom device drivers for Android, and exposing custom hardware functionality in Android apps. Additionally, tips for avoiding common pitfalls of Android software development and dealing with licensing and intellectual property issues will be taught.
"With the growing popularity of the Android operating system in both smartphones and tablets, engineers are now incorporating Android into medical, military, industrial, and many other types of embedded devices," said Michael Barr, CTO of Barr Group. "The 'Embedded Android Boot Camp' training course is designed to provide engineers with a strong foundation on Android and the unique issues in porting and customizing Android on embedded devices."
The "Embedded Android Boot Camp" training course is now available for early registration at $2999. Course and registration information is available at http://www.barrgroup.com/Training-Calendar.
