(NASDAQ: CEVA), the leading licensor of silicon intellectual property (SIP) platform solutions and DSP cores, today announced it is partnering with iOnRoad, an award-winning technology provider for personal driving assistance. The two companies have integrated and optimized the iOnRoad software for use with the CEVA-MM3101 imaging and vision platform for camera-enabled devices. The CEVA-MM3101 is a unique, fully programmable platform specifically designed to perform complex, real-time signal processing tasks related to imaging and vision, in a highly power-efficient manner. CEVA's recent steps extend the addressable markets for the CEVA-MM3101 to include the automotive market. Market research firm ABI Research forecasts the global advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) revenues are expected to grow from $22B in 2012 to $460B in 2020. This growth is fueled by government and consumer safety concerns related to road safety as well as imminent government mandates for the use of in-car vision systems.
Alon Atsmon, CEO of iOnRoad, commented: "Our personal driving assistance software leverages the capabilities of the CEVA-MM3101 platform to enable vision-based personal driving assistance functionalities beyond the levels available today on general purpose SoCs. Furthermore, the programmable nature of CEVA's imaging and vision platform enables us to support future driving assistance functionalities and algorithms via software, allowing customers to efficiently meet their cost constraints."
Eran Briman, vice president of marketing at CEVA, commented: "iOnRoad has demonstrated its technology to be an effective and highly-sought application for smartphones, winning numerous industry accolades. The powerful combination of the iOnRoad personal driving assistance software and our CEVA-MM3101 platform offers cost-efficient upgrade to the processing power needed to add such computer vision capabilities to current SoCs."
CEVA and iOnRoad will demonstrate personal driving assistance technology running on the CEVA-MM3101 platform in CEVA's private meeting suite at CES 2013, Jan 8-11, 2013 in Las Vegas. To request a demonstration at the event, email events@ceva-dsp.com.
