Organisers have announced two new keynote speakers joining the highly qualified line-up at the 5th Annual Cloud World Forum at Olympia National Hall, London on 26-27 June 2013; Oskar Stål, CTO at Spotify, and Adrian Gardner, CIO at NASA.
Authorities on building large-scale global cloud infrastructures, Stål and Gardner join a comprehensive conference agenda that will feature keynote presentations from Jeff Jaffe, CEO, World Wide Web Consortium, Dana Deasy, CIO, BP and Jeff Barr, Chief Evangelist, Amazon Web Services among others.
In total, the Cloud World Forum will host presentations and panel discussions from over 200 industry experts across 8 conference theatres, with 5,000 technology professionals expected in attendance.
As CTO since November 2009, Oskar Stål leads the technology team at Spotify, being directly responsible for operating their live service and for scaling up the infrastructure as the company keeps growing and establishing itself as the world's largest music streaming online service.
Spotify is a cloud-based service that allows people to access a 15 million song library, develop their own customised playlists, share and download mp3 files. No matter where people are, Spotify's 25 million users worldwide can access their customised playlists via the cloud and download or share this data with other users.
Oskar Stål's presentation will be held in the Vision Theatre at the Cloud World Forum, on Day 2 (27th June) from 11:30am to 12:10pm.
As CIO of NASA, Adrian Gardner is responsible for providing the globe's leading space agency with information, infrastructure and tools to effectively and securely support management, science, research, and technology programs. He is also responsible for developing, implementing, and operating specialised IT systems to support NASA mission planning and operation; and for providing systems that disseminate information to the public and that preserve NASA's information assets.
NASA uses its own cloud service - called Nebula - which is an open-source cloud computing platform that emerged in 2008 out of NASA Ames Research Center.
Adrian Gardner's presentation will be held in the Vision Theatre at the Cloud World Forum, on Day 2 (27th June) from 10:00am to 10:40am.
