ZTE Open - das erste Smartphone der Welt mit Firefox OS

ZTE hat das ZTE Open präsentiert, das weltweit erste Smartphone, das unter Mozillas offenem Firefox OS-Betriebssystem läuft. Zusammen mit der globalen Betreibergesellschaft Telefónica wird ZTE das ZTE Open ab Mitte 2013 zuerst in Spanien, Venezuela und Kolumbien auf den Markt bringen.

Als ein Einsteiger-Smartphone ist das ZTE Open ideal für junge Menschen, die die neueste Technologie erleben wollen, sowie Menschen mit begrenztem Kostenrahmen, die den Umstieg von einem Feature Phone zu einem Smartphone in Erwägung ziehen. Es verfügt über ein 3,5-Zoll-HVGA-TFT-Touchscreen-Display und ist mit 256MB-RAM-Speicher sowie 512MB ROM-Speicher in Verbindung mit einer 3,2-MP-Kamera ausgestattet. Es unterstützt Bluetooth 2.1, WIFI 802.11b/g/n sowie AGPS und verfügt über einen 1200mAH-Akku.

Mozillas Firefox OS basiert auf HTML5 und ist komplett als Open-Source-Software erhältlich. Damit können die Nutzer des ZTE Open Online-Apps verwenden und ihre bevorzugten Websites besuchen, ohne auf Funktionen verzichten zu müssen, die ihnen am Herzen liegen. Dazu gehören dynamische Inhalte und einzigartige Merkmale wie z. B. personalisiertere Suchdienste.

Das Firefox OS von Mozilla hat keine Funktionseinschränkungen. Es liefert eine Hochgeschwindigkeitsplattform auf der Grundlage offener Standards, die für Entwickler HTML5-basierter Webites und Apps ideal ist. Die Entwickler werden in der Lage sein, ihre Apps über den Firefox Marketplace zu vertreiben.

Das ZTE Open wird an Stand 3C64/3C74 in Halle 3 auf dem Mobile World Congress 2013 in Barcelona ausgestellt.
