Talend, a global open source software leader, today announced that its big data integration and quality solutions, Talend Open Studio for Big Data, Talend Enterprise Big Data and Talend Platform for Big Data, are now certified on CDH4 (Cloudera’s Distribution Including Apache Hadoop, version 4). The combination of Talend with Cloudera enables organizations to quickly and reliably deploy enterprise-ready solutions that truly scale for the most demanding big data projects.
CDH is the world’s most widely deployed distribution of Apache Hadoop in commercial and non-commercial environments. Today, more than half of the Fortune 50 run open source Apache Hadoop based on Cloudera. With tens of thousands of nodes in production, Cloudera has established itself as the category leader that is setting the standard for Apache Hadoop in the enterprise. CDH4 is a 100-percent open source distribution that combines Apache Hadoop with other open source applications within the Hadoop stack to deliver advanced, enterprise-grade features.
“Together, Talend and Cloudera offer a high level of integration to help companies change the way they handle large sets of data,” said Fabrice Bonan, Talend’s co-founder and chief technical officer. “Combining the advanced integration, transformation and cleansing capabilities of Talend’s big data solutions with the unprecedented scalability of CDH4 helps customers to truly integrate Hadoop to the information system while enabling a level of scalability that all organizations demand.”
Talend fully leverages the power of Hadoop and big data platforms with its agile data integration and data quality solution for big data. Talend’s unique code generation approach, optimized for these massively parallel environments, helps organizations of all sizes to reap the rewards of the vast amounts of data they have collected over time, at a fraction of the cost of traditional solutions.
“Because of the rapid growth of our behavioral targeting email adexchange, we chose Cloudera as our big data platform. The Talend Platform for Big Data helped us on this journey to Hadoop by providing an extremely scalable data migration, synchronization and cleansing solution,” said Eric Didier, CEO and co-founder of ividence, the first standalone acquisition email adexchange. “Talend has proven it can reliably migrate and synchronize large and diverse data sets with Hadoop, with its native big data features including Hadoop code generation and its broad connectivity to enterprise IT platforms. We are glad to see the Talend big data solutions being certified on Cloudera, which further reinforces our technology commitment.”
The Cloudera Certified Technology program, which Talend has joined, makes it simpler for Apache Hadoop technology buyers to purchase the right cluster components and software applications to extract the most value from their data. Clusters that leverage CDH4 alongside Cloudera Certified Technologies such as Talend Open Studio for Big Data, Talend Enterprise Big Data and Talend Platform for Big Data, operate with reduced risk and lower total cost of ownership. Cloudera Certified Technologies have been tested and validated to use supported APIs and to comply with Cloudera development guidelines for integration with Apache Hadoop.
“Building a cluster from the ground up to run an Apache Hadoop cluster can be challenging. There are numerous choices to be made at all levels of the stack, and making those choices can be very complicated. The Cloudera Certified Technology program is designed to make those choices easy and reliable,” said Tim Stevens, Vice President of Business and Corporate Development at Cloudera. “We’re committed to helping enterprises achieve the most from their Big Data initiatives, and we’re pleased that Talend has completed certification of Talend’s big data solutions on CDH4.”
