JasperSoft Joins Novell Market Start Program To Help Accelerate Adoption of Open Source Business Intelligence

JasperSoft Commits to Novell YES Certification; Novell to Support World's Most Popular, Fastest Growing Open Source BI Technolog

LINUXWORLD CONFERENCE & EXPO, SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- JasperSoft Corporation, the market leader in open source business intelligence (BI), today announced that it has joined the Novell Market Start program and is working on YES certification of the JasperIntelligence(TM) open source business intelligence suite. Market Start Solutions are supported by Novell's vast global network of channel partners; ensuring customers receive end-to-end integration, certification, and support from the operating system and infrastructure levels up to business applications.

Launched in late 2005 to promote innovation and accelerate open source adoption, the Novell Market Start program is aimed at providing small- and medium-sized enterprises with safe, Novell-certified applications from proven commercial open source and Linux-based software vendors.

JasperSoft joins other open source leaders in the MarketStart program, including Alfresco, Centeris, MySQL, SpikeSource, SugarCRM, Virtuas, and Zmanda, to deliver valuable, fully supported open-source based solutions requiring minimal licensing fees.

"JasperIntelligence was chosen for Novell's Market Start program because of its robust open source community and JasperSoft's strong commitment to bringing open source BI solutions to the enterprise," said John Beuchert, director of open source marketing programs at Novell. "The Novell Market Start program aims to encourage and accelerate enterprise open source adoption by promoting these market-leading open source solutions to customers and partners worldwide."

JasperSoft is also working toward Novell YES Certification, which will ensure compatibility with SUSE Linux Enterprise from Novell. JasperSoft products will be tested for compatibility with SUSE Linux Enterprise on an ongoing basis, and SUSE Linux Enterprise interoperability issues will be identified and resolved before they create issues for customers.

"At JasperSoft, we are committed to making BI easier to use and more widely available. For partners like Novell, open source is the key to achieving this, providing streamlined, sophisticated query, reporting, and analysis solutions to users at all levels within an organization," said Paul Doscher, CEO of JasperSoft. "JasperSoft is excited to join the Novell Market Start program and work on meeting the stringent requirements to be YES Certified to create new opportunities for open source BI."

JasperIntelligence builds on JasperReports, the world's most popular open source Java reporting software. JasperIntelligence is a comprehensive suite of open source products providing data access, analysis, data integration, and reporting that enable BI for everyone.
