Precise Biometrics Announces Partnership with SPARC, Delivers Additional, Multi-Factor Authentication and Streamlined Mobile Device Management to Federal Government Users

Precise Biometrics, an innovation leader in providing authentication solutions, and developer of Tactivo, a smart casing that provides both smart card and fingerprint authentication to mobile devices, announces today that it has partnered with SPARC, a leading software product development company to the government and commercial sectors.

Precise Biometrics’ Tactivo product will be bundled with SPARC’s new mobile management platform, Knappsack, to bring increased security capabilities through multiple layers of authentication to federal agencies’ mobile applications. It will also enhance the value and utility government users receive from their mobile apps through an easy-to-use, efficient approach to streamline their mobile device management activities.

This new tool will also help government users to satisfy, even exceed, current and future federal device authentication mandates, such as FIPS 201 and HSPD-12. These regulations are in a constant state of evolution as the BYOD (“Bring Your Own Device”) movement continues to expand with growing mobile usage among government employees. Along with this consistent increase in mobile device usage across federal agencies, comes the ever-expanding need to increase security capabilities through implementation of multi-factor authentication solutions.

Knappsack features an easy-to-use, customizable open source infrastructure, as well as a streamlined platform interface to deliver centralized management of an organization’s array of mobile apps. Additionally, it enables federal agencies to securely upload apps to specific groups and to deploy selected groups to any device.

“We are thrilled to bring the innovative biometric and authentication technology Tactivo enables to enhance the power and security of SPARC’s Knappsack mobile device management solution to continue to grow our footprint in the federal space,” Precise Biometrics’ CEO Thomas Marschall says. “This new bundled solution will help government users to satisfy the latest security mandates while providing additional value and utility through the streamlined management of their mobile apps for maximum efficiency and security, central to the innovation and evolution of the mobile application space and BYOD landscape.”

“We are excited to partner with the industry-leading company, Precise Biometrics,” SPARC’s CEO, Eric Bowman states. “Our innovative Knappsack platform is an ideal complement to Precise’s Tactivo product, to deepen its value and utility among users across the U.S. federal government.”

Digital Transformation is much more than a buzzword. The radical shift to digital mechanisms for almost every process is evident across all industries and verticals. This is often especially true in financial services, where the legacy environment is many times unable to keep up with the rapidly shifting demands of the consumer. The constant pressure to provide complete, omnichannel delivery of customer-facing solutions to meet both regulatory and customer demands is putting enormous pressure on...
IoT is rapidly becoming mainstream as more and more investments are made into the platforms and technology. As this movement continues to expand and gain momentum it creates a massive wall of noise that can be difficult to sift through. Unfortunately, this inevitably makes IoT less approachable for people to get started with and can hamper efforts to integrate this key technology into your own portfolio. There are so many connected products already in place today with many hundreds more on the h...
The standardization of container runtimes and images has sparked the creation of an almost overwhelming number of new open source projects that build on and otherwise work with these specifications. Of course, there's Kubernetes, which orchestrates and manages collections of containers. It was one of the first and best-known examples of projects that make containers truly useful for production use. However, more recently, the container ecosystem has truly exploded. A service mesh like Istio addr...
