WSO2 to Present Rome Workshop on Implementing API Integration Within an SOA

In the era of the connected business, enterprises increasingly rely on the convergence of APIs, integration, and service-oriented architecture (SOA). RESTful APIs connect internal and external business participants; integration bridges silos; and SOA encourages organizations to build maintainable solutions. WSO2 will present a half-day hands-on workshop to help IT architects, developers and managers implement these practices.

The “API, Integration, and SOA Convergence” workshop will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., at the Hotel ibis Styles Roma Eur in Rome, Italy. Transforming the Integration Process

The hands-on workshop will demonstrate how enterprises can transform their integration processes by rapidly implementing a RESTful design, enforcing governance policies, safely scaling solutions, orchestrating complex interaction sequences, and reusing assets.

Workshop presenter Isabelle Mauny first will explore why mobile, cloud services, and big data insights are transforming integration practices. She then will review patterns and best practices for increasing adoption, speeding delivery, and creating maintainable solutions. Additionally, Isabelle will discuss how to realize a reference architecture for API, integration and SOA.

Workshop demonstrations will include:

  • Building RESTful APIs with WSO2 Application Server and WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus (WSO2 ESB).
  • Sharing master data with WSO2 Data Services Server.
  • Mediating, transforming and routing messages with WSO2 ESB.
  • Encouraging mobile interactions with WSO2 API Manager.
  • Monitoring RESTful APIs, service usage and adoption with WSO2 API Manager, WSO2 ESB toolkits, and WSO2 Business Activity Monitor.

Workshop Presenter

Isabelle Mauny, WSO2 director of product management, leads the WSO2 Madrid office and works with WSO2’s engineering, sales, and marketing teams to maximize the customer value of WSO2 middleware products, platforms and solutions. She played a central role in bringing the 100% open source WSO2 API Manager to market in 2012. Isabelle has more than 20 years of technology, consulting and management experience in Java, application development, middleware, and SOA.
