Kaltura Migration to Clarizen V6 Improves Customer Satisfaction Through Better Professional Services Implementations

Customer Validation and Multiple Industry Awards Confirm V6's Success in Providing Collaboration That Drives Results

SAN MATEO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 03/18/14 -- Clarizen, the leader in enterprise work collaboration software, today announced its long-standing customer Kaltura Inc., a leading open source video platform, is completely revolutionizing the way its professional services team communicates due to its migration to Clarizen V6.

Kaltura simplifies the creation of video experiences and provides tools that facilitate innovative and engaging experiences that create value for its customers. Although Kaltura's professional services team had been effective in delivering successful customer implementations using V5, they had struggled to collaborate well around requests, and after requests had converted to projects.

Needless to say, Kaltura was very anxious to get their hands on the award-winning Clarizen V6. As one of the company's longest standing clients, Kaltura was selected to participate in Clarizen's "friendly beta" program. Due to V6's intuitive nature, after just a few weeks, Kaltura was proficient in using the newly re-imagined solution.

"Our team is now completely reliant on the social conversations enabled by V6 and, because they can now be linked to tasks and projects, stakeholders are always on the same page," explained Yehiam Shinder, Director of Professional Services at Kaltura. "Getting work done requires connecting inside and outside the enterprise, with a clear understanding of all of the moving parts on every project, and V6 was a game-changer for us in this regard."

With V6, Clarizen truly redefined collaboration by providing a robust, yet simple-to-use solution that connects unstructured conversations with structured work. For example, Kaltura no longer has to toggle back and forth through disconnected emails and notes -- all discussions created on a specific request are connected to the projects using the hashtag (#). Plus, discussion posts on the project news feed are now linked directly to work execution items -- specific tasks, action items, approvals, progress reports, expense sheets -- and are visible at all times, no matter where they originated.

"We now even have the ability to mark the 'type' of update for each post, so that later we can filter and provide reporting directly from the discussion feed," continued Shinder. "This gives us much more insight and ensures ongoing maintenance is efficient, effective, and strengthens our clients' faith in our services."

Clarizen also allows Kaltura to look across all customer projects to see how its resources are assigned, the types of projects they are engaged in, and if the right skill sets are assigned to the right tasks. The real-time, high-level visibility allows Kaltura to instantly identify and respond to overloaded resources, resolve issues that can affect project due dates or profitability, and help them make strategic decisions about prioritization.

"Clarizen V6 has truly become our main work execution tool," continued Shinder. "It has not only changed the way our professional services team manages our activities in the tool itself, but it has also transformed how we think about project management best practices and making improvements to our procedures. I look forward to extending Clarizen into other departments at Kaltura."

The Work Graph™
The way most companies work is broken. First we build work groups, and then we engage in conversations, which may become actions and, ideally, these actions become deliverables. Each of these typically live in disconnected "islands" of activity, managed by different systems. Clarizen is different in that it connects these islands into a "work graph" that is organically created through the act of getting work done. The work graph enables collaboration that drives results, turning every organization into a high-performance, real-time operation.

I wanted to gather all of my Internet of Things (IOT) blogs into a single blog (that I could later use with my University of San Francisco (USF) Big Data “MBA” course). However as I started to pull these blogs together, I realized that my IOT discussion lacked a vision; it lacked an end point towards which an organization could drive their IOT envisioning, proof of value, app dev, data engineering and data science efforts. And I think that the IOT end point is really quite simple…

Extracting business value from Internet of Things (IoT) data doesn’t happen overnight. There are several requirements that must be satisfied, including IoT device enablement, data analysis, real-time detection of complex events and automated orchestration of actions. Unfortunately, too many companies fall short in achieving their business goals by implementing incomplete solutions or not focusing on tangible use cases. In his general session at @ThingsExpo, Dave McCarthy, Director of Products...

A critical component of any IoT project is what to do with all the data being generated. This data needs to be captured, processed, structured, and stored in a way to facilitate different kinds of queries. Traditional data warehouse and analytical systems are mature technologies that can be used to handle certain kinds of queries, but they are not always well suited to many problems, particularly when there is a need for real-time insights.
