In a session this June at Enterprise Open Source Conference & Expo 2007
Zachary's session, titled "Going Open - A guide for software vendors and their customers," will cover the impact on software vendors and end users alike, and will include best practices from a number of companies that have already made the transition, including failed attempts.
In covering open source technology for The 451 Group, Zachary's work includes coverage of both industry and community issues, as well as the new Commercial Adoption of Open Source (CAOS) Service, to be launched in early 2006. Prior to joining The 451 Group, he was the Senior Technical Editor and Consulting Industry Analyst for Enterprise Open Source Journal, and the editor of The Open Source Update, an open source industry newsletter. He was also the principal of o*rev, an enterprise open source consulting firm working with enterprise IT and software vendors on open source strategy.
The second annual Enterprise Open Source Conference & Expo, colocated with SOAWorld Conference & Expo 2007 includes sessions from other top speakers with an analyst background such as Red Hat's Pierre Fricke, Søren Hartvig from the Capgemini group, and Dion Hinchliffe of Hinchcliffe & Co.
The conference is being held in The Roosevelt Hotel, in midtown Manhattan, New York, June 25-27, 2007.
