"If we can imagine it, we can build it. And we had to create an environment in which developers and designers, working together, can do that."
"Go out and take a survey of development teams and their first foray into developing a Rich Internet Application, regardless of technologies (Flex, AJAX, WPF/E) and my guess is you will hear stories of pain, misery and failure," said Wolf.
"Why?" he added. "Developing RIAs is really tough."
Wolf continued: "Why? Is it the asynchronous nature of the data access? No. Is it the complexity of data binding? No. Is it the lack of robust frameworks that address messaging and state management? No. The main reason is it takes a lot of people. A lot of different kinds of people.
People you likely simply don’t have. To complicate the matter, if you do have them, they likely aren’t very good at working together. Dave Wolf, a Vice President at Cynergy, one of the largest RIA development firms in the world will talk about how to build a truly world-class RIA development team from designers, to experience and enterprise development teams to how they work and where to enable you and your own teams to build incredible applications."

'It takes a village,' said Cynergy VP Dave Wolf this morning at AJAXWorld 2007 East, 'to build an engineering team capable of writing world-class Rich Internet Applications.' You cannot create the right atmosphere in a 'cubicle farm,' he contends. And Cynergy walks the talk, and walks the walk, with no individual offices, large spacious office environments, and a commitment to keeping its staffers energized and creative, more like an ad agency than a development shop. |
