Red Hat joined as part of a SUSE-snubbing deepening of its relationship with Bull, which together with France Telecom R&D and INRIA started ObjectWeb in 1999.
Bull wanted Red Hat to integrate Jonas, the project meant to create an open source implementation of the J2EE 1.3 spec like an application server meant
Now SUSE, a J2SE source licensee since earlier this year, says it'll get involved with Jonas, some of whose features anticipate J2EE 1.4, and Enhydra, another Java application server distributed by ObjectWeb.
Jonas is distributed under the Lesser GPL and comes with free documentation.
