That makes at least three times now, although the others were kinda strung out and looked like more.
SCO described this one as a syn attack and said it meant several thousand servers were compromised and used to overload SCO's Web site with illegitimate Web site requests.
By Thursday it was complaining that that the attack had expanded to involve its file servers. The cops were called again.
Linux faithful claim it's all a big lie and that somebody kicked a cable out of its socket or there was a HDD failure, either that or SCO is incompetent in defending itself.

Just as spammers are now working with crackers and worm-writers to target anti-spam sites with DDoS attacks(Spamhaus, Monkeys.com, Compu.Net, etc.) from zombied machines, it's not too far-fetched to suspect that SCO has orchestrated this entire episode with off-shore spammers. |
