LONDON, Oct. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Alfresco Software, Inc., the first and leading provider of open source enterprise content management solutions, today announced that open source guru Brian Behlendorf will be keynote speaker at the inaugural Alfresco North American Community Conference in New York, on Wednesday, November 7, 2007. His presentation, "The Threat of Microsoft SharePoint to Open Source," will take place at 10 a.m. ET.

Behlendorf is a technologist, computer programmer and an important figure in the open-source software movement. He was a primary developer of the Apache Web server, the most popular web server software on the Internet, and a founding member of the Apache Group, which later became the Apache Software Foundation.
Behlendorf is currently on the board of directors of CollabNet, a company he co-founded with O'Reilly & Associates (now O'Reilly Media) in 1999 to develop tools for enabling collaborative, distributed software development. CollabNet is also the primary corporate sponsor of Subversion, an open source version control system.
The Alfresco North American Community Conference is a one-day event designed to promote a continuous exchange of information, ideas and product plans between the Alfresco Community and the Alfresco Product Development team. A separate Alfresco European Community Conference will take place in Paris on November 15, 2007.
Attendees at both conferences will have the opportunity to participate in roadmap reviews, prioritization, and design discussions and learn from implementation and best practice case studies delivered by Alfresco customers.
