The Latin School of Chicago has a heterogeneous environment and backs up 82 servers across Linux, Mac OS and Windows environments. The network includes student and teacher data that doubles annually, two libraries, a café, a store, and the development office, as well as several departments, including Accounting, Payroll and Finance. To manage the school’s growing amount of data, Latin School of Chicago has embraced virtualization, VTLs and backup software reporting tools to cut backup administration time and improve the efficiency and reliability of their backups.

Mr. Simon has been with the Latin School of Chicago for eight years where he handles the entire IT infrastructure, including the network, servers, VoIP and surveillance, across three buildings within one block. Prior to the Latin School, Mr. Simon was with the University of Chicago for four years.
