Photon Announces New Drupal Training Center

IT Consulting Firm Opens Training Facility to Create an Army of Drupal Experts

Photon Infotech announced the opening of the Photon Drupal Training Center, a new facility that will leverage and expand Photon’s experience and expertise with Drupal, an open-source PHP-driven Content Management System. With a goal of certifying 200 new Drupal experts a year, Photon will have the industry’s largest and best trained army of Drupal consultants in the world.

A strong advocate and contributor to the Open Source movement, Photon has been involved with Drupal from its start and recently finished its 40th project based on Drupal. Photon has also implemented one of the world’s largest Drupal websites, demonstrating Drupal’s enterprise scalability. Based in Photon’s new Estancia offices in India, the center provides a comprehensive training environment to teach new Photon consultants how to develop cutting edge applications.

In a January Forrester Research report entitled, “Web Content Management and Open Source — Answers to Frequently Asked Questions,” Forrester recognized Drupal as one of two open source vendors which “CIOs and CTOs need to pay particular attention.” As part of Photon’s growing Drupal consulting practice, the training center ensures customers can leverage Photon’s extensive expertise to implement innovative applications on this popular open source content management solution.

"We are constantly monitoring open source developments and when it comes to content management systems Drupal stands out," said Srinivas Balasubramanian, chairman and CEO of Photon. “More and more of our large enterprise customers are finding that open source software, and Drupal in particular, is mature enough for large scale deployments.  To cater to these large enterprises and stay ahead of open source trends, we are opening a training facility dedicated to Drupal and its future."

And as digital natives make up more and more of the modern workforce, the appetite for user-friendly, cloud-based services grows. The center of work is shifting to the user and to the cloud. But managing a proliferation of SaaS, web, and mobile apps running on any number of clouds and devices is unwieldy and increases security risks. Steve Wilson, Citrix Vice President of Cloud,...
When Enterprises started adopting Hadoop-based Big Data environments over the last ten years, they were mainly on-premise deployments. Organizations would spin up and manage large Hadoop clusters, where they would funnel exabytes or petabytes of unstructured data. However, over the last few years the economics of maintaining this enormous infrastructure compared with the elastic scalability of viable cloud options has changed this equation. The growth of cloud storage, cloud-managed big data e...
