Continuent Announces Support for MySQL 5.1

Continuent Tungsten for MySQL available for testing

Continuent has announced support and enhancements to MySQL Server 5.1.30 GA release, the 5.1 production version of the open source database. MySQL 5.1.30 is recommended for use on production systems by the MySQL build team at Sun Microsystems.

"We welcome the new capabilities in MySQL 5.1, especially row replication. Row replication is particularly well suited to replicating between MySQL and commercial databases like Oracle, as well as any replication problem that requires schema transformations. We have extended our Tungsten Replicator to read 5.1 binlogs in order to allow our customers to take advantage of these capabilities immediately," says Robert Hodges, CTO at Continuent.

Continuent Tungsten provides advanced replication for MySQL, including a number of specialized capabilities for MySQL 5.1 users: solve problems that go beyond the capabilities of MySQL's row replication, provide heterogeneous replication, and implement reliable, zero-downtime MySQL database migration and upgrades.
