JBoss Enterprise Middleware Suite Enjoys Rapidly Growing Adoption in Telecommunications
Telecom Operators, Equipment and Service Providers Rely on JEMS for Enterprise Deployments

JBoss has announced that the JBoss Enterprise Middleware Suite (JEMS), the leading open source platform for service-oriented architecture (SOA), is rapidly becoming a standard among telecommunications companies. JEMS has become the market-leading middleware suite because it simplifies development of Enterprise Java applications, enabling telecom companies to accelerate time to market with flexible, cost-effective solutions. Leading telecom operators, equipment and service providers worldwide continue to choose JEMS over costly proprietary alternatives.

Java Platform, Enterprise Edition (EE) has become the base platform for most new development in telecom. As the telecom industry continues to grow and invest in new technologies such as voice over Internet protocol (VoIP), WiMAX and Fiber to the Premises (FTTP), the flexibility and power of JEMS microkernel-based architecture helps customers continue to bring to market innovative services and products at competitive price points.

JEMS products are free to download under the business-friendly open source LGPL license and can be used alone, mixed and matched or as a whole to build and deploy multimedia applications, network management software and other specific telecom applications such as IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), a new common platform for developing and delivering services.

Ubiquity Software, the leader in Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) technology adopted by Telecom Service Providers worldwide, is a JBoss Premier Certified Technology Partner that supports the JEMS platform to enable the development and deployment of converged real-time telephony and web applications on their carrier-grade SIP Application Server (SIP A/S).

"Our global carrier customers have chosen Ubiquity because they demand high availability and reliability from a SIP Application Server and the converged applications that run on it," said John Hart, vice president of product line management at Ubiquity Software. "The combination of Ubiquity's SIP A/S platform with JBoss' JEMS platform provides a best-in-class solution for our service providers and enterprise customers to develop, deploy and manage innovative services that combine voice, data, web or video capabilities into converged applications. As a JBoss Premier Certified Technology Partner dealing with real-time communications, it is crucial that any issues we have are resolved quickly, so JBoss Support Services are a valuable resource to our organization."
