Linux Vendor Arkeia Software And Computer Dynamics Partner
To Market Linux Supported Data Protection Software In Japan

Arkeia Software and Computer Dynamics Corporation of Japan, announced a broad distribution agreement for the Japanese market. The agreement provides Computer Dynamics Corporation the ability to market, sell and support the full range of Linux Supported data protection products across all of Japan.

For the first time, enterprises will have ongoing local technical support for the award winning, innovative data protection software from Arkeia, including enterprise backup, restore and archive solutions.

“We are honored to have been selected by Arkeia Software as the primary partner for the Japanese market. Thousands of enterprises already rely on Arkeia products for their data protection needs, and we look forward to bringing these innovative products to Japan”, said Hiro Sakamoto, President of Computer Dynamics Corporation.

The new relationship follows the April announcement of Arkeia Network Backup version 5.5 with full Unicode Character support. Unicode character support is necessary to optimize Kanji character management. Unicode is a universal codepage (which converts numeric code points into characters) that can be used with any compliant computer platform or software application.

The new version of Arkeia Network Backup will allow Unicode/UTF-8 characters in directory names and file names to be viewed and managed in the Arkeia Software data protection index.

“Computer Dynamics Corporation already provides excellent storage solutions from vendors such as Overland Storage, Spectra Logic and Emulex. Arkeia Software is a natural extension and we are thrilled to offer Arkeia Network Backup Version 5.5 to any enterprise which does business in Japan in partnership with Computer Dynamics Corporation”, said Alain Pechon, CEO Arkeia Software.
