DataSynapse Nominated for SYS-CON's "Virtualization Journal Readers' Choice Awards"
GridServer Nominated for "Best Grid Virtualization"
Jul. 3, 2008 11:30 AM
DataSynapse’s GridServer is a service execution platform
that dynamically scales enterprise application services based on performance
and business requirements. GridServer provides a simplified approach to
enabling business critical application components to execute across the entire
available computing infrastructure -- the “grid”.
With GridServer, application services launch as planned,
while the scheduling, management, and allocation of the computing resources
becomes automatic as defined by business policies, and application or user
priorities. Reacting in real-time, GridServer assigns the necessary grid
resources based on priorities and distributes work across available
infrastructure resources.
As a result a single application service execution
environment can scale to 30,000-plus CPUs spanning multiple, datacenters or
geographically disperse locations. GridServer eliminates the need to build out
new CPUs and server silos in order to manage peak workloads and computation
intensive processes.
By distributing the computing workload over available
resources, GridServer enables businesses to deploy new and improved services faster
and more cost effectively.
GridServer provides a simple approach to reliably scale
enterprise service execution by automatically scheduling, managing and
executing services based on policies and business priorities. It also supplies
distributed environment to work across available compute resources that
automatically adapts as policies, priorities, workload or availability change.
It guarantees automatic recovery of service execution in the event of hardware
failure and unparalleled performance and scaling.
SYS-CON’s
Virtualization Journal’s “Readers’ Choice Awards”
SYS-CON's Virtualization Journal announced today its first
annual Virtualization
Readers' Choice Awards. SYS-CON's Readers' Choice Awards, also
known as the "Oscars
of the Software Industry" has been one of the most
prestigious industry award programs for more than a decade. This year's
virtualization awards will be given in 17 categories and award-winning products
and services will be selected by Virtualization Journal
readers.
Virtualization takes the cost and complexity out of IT, and can even help us
reduce the CO2 footprint. IDC has stated that the virtualization services
market alone is going to reach $11.7 billion by 2011 and in general this
technology, which has been around for a good number of years, seems suddenly to
be on everyone's mind.
In short, Virtualization is fast becoming a key requirement for every server in
the data center, enabling increased workloads in server consolidation projects,
efficient software development and testing, resource management for dynamic
data centers, application re-hosting and compatibility, and high-availability
partitions.
The tipping point, though - as anticipated by
industry experts already back in 2005 - seems to be coming in 2008.
